At the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City, an inscription reads, “No day shall erase you from the memory of time,” an adapted quote from the Roman poet Virgil.
This 9/11, 25 years after the terrorist attack that rocked the country, the Anaconda Fire Department is making sure that memory lives on, displaying the American flag on top of one of its firetruck’s ladders for all driving down Commercial Avenue to see.
In front of the firetruck, a memorial sits on the curb of the Anaconda Fire Station at 420 W. Commercial Ave. The fire department is hosting a cookout for first responders today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will serve hotdogs and hamburgers, cooked by the Anaconda Freemasons, and there will also be chips, cookies and drinks provided.
