Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at Lincoln Elementary! We are so excited to welcome our students and families back for another wonderful year of learning, growing, and making memories together. It is truly a privilege to serve as your child’s principal, and I am looking forward to another great year with our Lincoln school family!
At Lincoln, our mission continues to guide everything we do:
Our school family is safe, connected, and respectful, so all children can become goal-directed learners and contributing community members.
The Copperhead CODE
This year, we are excited to continue building a positive school culture through the Copperhead CODE. The CODE gives our students simple, consistent expectations that they can use throughout their school day:
C – Choose Respect
O – Own Your Actions
D – Do Your Best
E – Everyone Belongs
Throughout the year, students will learn what the CODE looks and sounds like in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and throughout our school. Our goal is for children to understand that being part of our Lincoln school family means treating others with kindness, taking responsibility for their choices, giving their best effort, and helping make sure everyone feels included. We know these are skills that will help our students not only at school, but also at home and in our community.
A New Playground!
There is also something BIG happening at Lincoln this year—our playground remodel! After so much planning, fundraising, and incredible community support, our new playground is becoming a reality!
The remodeled playground will provide more accessible play opportunities for all students, additional green and nature-based spaces, a walking path, improved drainage, and new areas for our students to play, explore, and learn together. We cannot wait for the day when our students get to run out and enjoy their new playground! This project is a wonderful example of what can happen when our school family and community work together.
As partners in your child’s educational journey, I also want to emphasize the importance of good attendance and open communication. Every school day matters, especially during these important early years. Please stay in communication with us and let the school know whenever there is a change in your child’s schedule. Seesaw messaging is one of the best ways to keep your child’s teacher and the school informed.
My hope is that this information helps your family prepare for the beginning of the school year and makes those first few days run as smoothly as possible. We have so many exciting things ahead of us this year, and our staff cannot wait to welcome our students back through the doors!
We are ready for another year of learning, growing, and living the Copperhead CODE together. Most importantly, we are excited to have our Lincoln Lions back at school!
Wishing you and your family a fantastic start to the school year!
Warm regards,
Mrs. Holly Bjerke
