Anaconda School District Superintendent Tiffany Rehbein’s back-to-school letter to the community

Welcome Back to the 2026–2027 School Year!

Dear Community Members, Families, and Partners,

As the summer wanes and the promise of a new academic year unfolds, it is my distinct privilege to welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year. Walking through our halls this past week, seeing teachers prepare their classrooms, and watching our staff gear up for the months ahead fills me with incredible optimism. A new school year carries a unique energy—a fresh start filled with opportunity, ambition, and hope for every single student in our district.

This year, our journey together centers on four foundational pillars: Relationships, Communication, Wellness, and Teaching & Learning.

Building Meaningful Relationships

At the heart of every successful school district is a deeply connected community. We know that students thrive when they feel safe, known, and valued. This year, we are placing an intentional focus on cultivating strong, trusting relationships—not only between teachers and students, but between our schools, families, and local community organizations. When our children see the adults in their lives united in support of their well-being, their potential becomes limitless.

Open and Transparent Communication

Trust is built on clear, consistent, and authentic dialogue. We are committed to making our communication with you more active, accessible, and transparent than ever before. Whether sharing district updates, celebrating student achievements, or navigating challenges together, you can expect timely information and meaningful opportunities to share your voice. We want you to feel informed, engaged, and truly heard every step of the way.

Nurturing Whole-Person Wellness

We recognize that academic achievement goes hand-in-hand with physical, social, and emotional well-being. True learning happens when students and staff feel supported, balanced, and healthy. This year, we are expanding our wellness initiatives to ensure our schools remain safe, nurturing spaces where mental health resources, healthy choices, and supportive environments are integrated into our daily culture. Prioritizing wellness equips our students with the resilience and self-awareness they need to navigate both school and life.

Excellence in Teaching and Learning

Our core mission remains unwavering: providing a transformative education for every student. This year, we are continuing to refine our instruction to ensure it is engaging, rigorous, and responsive to the needs of a changing world. From foundational skills to critical thinking and creative problem-solving, our educators are prepared to spark curiosity and inspire academic excellence in every classroom, every day.

The Anaconda Community is the Best

Public education is a shared responsibility, and we cannot do this work alone. The strength of our schools directly reflects the support of the community around us. Whether you are a parent, a local business owner, a senior citizen, or an alumnus, your involvement makes a tangible difference.

Here is how you can support our students and staff this year:

  • Engage: Attend school board meetings, community forums, athletic events, and student showcases.
  • Partner: Consider volunteering, mentoring, or partnering with our schools to provide real-world learning experiences.
  • Advocate: Speak positively about our schools and stay informed on the issues impacting public education.

Thank you for your steadfast support, your dedication to our youth, and your partnership. Together, we are creating an environment where every child can learn, grow, and succeed.

Let’s make this school year our best one yet!

Warmly,

Dr. Tiffany L. Rehbein
